Today, Wednesday, Representative Mahmoud Al-Qaisi considered the Cabinet's decision to support food ration items as a reassuring step for citizens.
Al-Qaisi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Cabinet's decision to cancel customs duties on basic food items and support the ration card items is an important step to allay citizens' fears of a shortage of food, in conjunction with the high prices witnessed in Iraqi markets."
Al-Qaisi called on the government to "take more similar steps, especially since we are on the threshold of the month of Ramadan, when the demand for foodstuffs increases and their consumption increases during the days of the month."
