The head of the National Sindh bloc, Ahmed al-Asadi, confirmed that Muqtada al-Sadr's contact with the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, represented a breakthrough for the political process.
Al-Assad said, "The coordinating framework includes 120 to 130 deputies, including 83 Shiite deputies," noting that "the framework has understandings with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan."
He added, "Today's meeting between the coordination framework and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed the previous understandings," stressing that "Sadr's contact with al-Maliki was important and represented a breakthrough in the political process."
He pointed out that "there are mediators who are making an effort to bridge the views between Mr. Al-Sadr and the leaders of the coordination framework," noting that "the Al-Hanana meeting focused on understandings regarding the selection of the prime minister." Ended 29 / p. 87
