Iraq stands at the forefront of countries rich in oil and its other natural resources, so the spread of unemployment among young people is a strange and striking thing. Certainly, the spread of this scourge is behind the corruption of the ruling class, the absence of a correct vision in the decision, planning and curriculum on the one hand, and the increase in the number of graduates on the other hand, as well as the fragility of the security, political and economic situation. Unemployment has direct negative effects on the life of the citizen, family and society alike.
Among the measures that the government must activate to reveal the extent of its interest in the youth category, is to cut off the phenomenon of employment coming from other countries in order to provide Iraqi youth with a job opportunity worthy of them, as well as canceling the law to extend the employment service for some.
These and other measures will provide an additional opportunity for the unemployed youth, and among the other measures are blocking the flow of some imported goods coming from abroad, which also contributed to closing the doors of national factories and factories, and do not forget that the increased opportunities for crime and deviation, the increase in drug abuse and the spread of the phenomenon of divorce between spouses are among the outcomes. Emptiness, poverty, unemployment, poverty and the need for money. Young people may flee from their problems to drugs, addiction and the like.
Another measure to get rid of the phenomenon of unemployment is to reduce the salaries, allowances, dispatches and privileges of officials with special degrees, which are not commensurate with these privileges with their efforts and thus this deduction leads to the provision of financial liquidity, which contributes significantly to eliminating waste of public money, and provides the opportunity for new graduates to find Jobs can be easily and easily, and the government should be serious about opening job offices for all unemployed youth and activating the Ministry of Planning’s mission to know the statistics of the unemployed in an accurate manner, in order for the government to have a clear and accurate perception of the unemployed youth, as well as activating the training and rehabilitation program and providing loans to establish Medium and small projects, with reasonable and acceptable benefits, on concessional terms, without the boring “routine” circles.
It came in recent official data about the high unemployment rates in Iraq to levels unprecedented in thirty years, despite the country being at the forefront of the oil-producing countries, and it seems that the enormous oil wealth and the rise in oil prices from time to time will not and did not contribute to raising the standard of living of citizens. Inevitably, the rationale behind this deficit is mismanagement and rampant corruption, and the latest statistics indicate the level of unemployment in Iraq reached (15%), which is the highest rate, and thus this level threatens to worsen the economic, social, security, psychological and other situation. All this corruption is a sufficient reason for the return of protests and demonstrations Once again, the country is plunged into a major crisis. Addressing the problem of unemployment is not impossible in a country like Iraq, which is rich in resources, capabilities, and mental and economic capabilities, but this can only be done by activating the national will and future planning.
