The Iraqi Electricity announces that it has reached the threshold of 16 hours of preparation and confirms: We are ready for any emergency
Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced on Sunday that the capital, Baghdad, has been forged with 16 hours of power.
The file of electric power is one of the most prominent service problems that Iraqis suffer from, despite successive governments spending more than 40 billion dollars on the sector after 2003, at a time when the hours of supplying electricity during the summer are declining.
In this regard, the ministry said in a statement, that it is mobilizing its staff to raise its production capacity and increase the hours of providing citizens with electrical energy, and it takes all its urgent measures to address any emergency defect that affects the joints of the national system during peak times due to the sharp rise in temperatures.
She added that she refutes what is being circulated regarding the poor supply of electrical power to the capital, Baghdad, on Saturday, as the supply - according to the ministry's statement - reached approximately (16) hours in most of its areas, taking into account the presence of some emergency faults that were maintained immediately and with direct follow-up from the Before the headquarters of the Ministry and the General Administration of Electricity Distribution in Baghdad.
The electricity crisis is increasing, with Iran entering the crisis line, as it worked in earlier times to reduce the quantities that are being exported from the gas supplied to Iraq.
Iran justified this step by the presence of debts owed by Iraq estimated at 1.6 billion dollars, before the Iraqi electricity recently announced that those debts had been liquidated.
In January of this year, Iraq and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding for the electrical connection between the two countries, in an effort by Baghdad to reduce the chronic energy shortage in the country.
