Representative Alia Nassif confirmed that she reserves her legal right to sue a person for defamation through social media pages and falsely claim that her office gives promises to graduates to appoint them as lecturers in schools, indicating that her office for more than ten years has received all people and records the names and addresses of thousands of the unemployed. Widows, orphans and vulnerable groups, and it is their right that we help them find a source of livelihood for them or convince government institutions to appoint them, but we do not make promises of appointment.
And she said in a statement today: “We previously announced that the number of lecturers in Baghdad governorate is 18,000, and we registered our objection to this small number compared to the number of lecturers in the rest of the governorates, which exceeded 30,000 in one of the governorates. Baghdad and removing injustice from its graduates by increasing the number of lecturers.”
Nassif added: "We and a number of Baghdad's deputies carried out a parliamentary movement represented in submitting a letter to the concerned authorities in this regard, and we did not give a definitive promise in this regard because these endeavors may or may not succeed. All we did was direct our graduates to schools to know whether they needed their services or not, so that we could know how much each of Baghdad’s districts needs lecturers.”
And she continued: “A person launched a media attack against us through Facebook pages and began threatening to attack and close the third Karkh Education Directorate, and this brazen method will not lead to any result other than falling under legal accountability, and the fabricated noise will negatively reflect on the legitimate demands of our children to be appointed as lecturers. Or fixation on a permanent angel.”
