, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed the continuation of investigations regarding the "catastrophe" targeting a tourist resort in Dohuk Governorate, stressing the readiness of the forces to defend the country's sovereignty, against any aggression or external threats, calling on Turkey to respect sovereignty of Iraqi territory.
Rasoul said in a television interview, that a delegation from the armed forces and the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the scene of the accident since the first moments of the tragedy, adding that "there is an investigation into this matter currently underway."
The bombing, which killed 9 civilians and wounded 23, angered Iraqi public opinion, especially since the majority of victims are from the center and south of the country, who head to the mountainous regions of Kurdistan bordering Turkey, to escape the heat.
He explained: "We, as soldiers, certainly have experience to carry out this investigation, some of us have been working in the military for 35 years," noting that "certain points in the investigation are presented to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and the decision remains with the military leadership to take what it deems appropriate."
He said: "As for the Security Council issue, I do not know details about who will participate in this meeting, and what will happen, but this is a work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose efforts I commend."
He added that "there were many violations that the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported to the United Nations regarding the Turkish bombing."
Rasoul said, "I think that Turkey should respect Iraqi sovereignty just as we respect the sovereignty of Turkish territory."
"Nuclear bomb"
On the other hand, Rasul described the al-Hol camp in Syria as a "nuclear bomb."
Al-Hol camp, located in northeastern Syria, which is under Kurdish control, is experiencing increasing insecurity and the children held there are condemned to life without a future.
Rasoul said, "Al-Hol camp contains women and children. They are now working to recruit these children in an abnormal way," considering that they are a "nuclear bomb."
"I assure you that they are not only a time bomb, but a nuclear bomb if no action is taken against them, because it will produce a new generation of these children, dozens of times tougher than ISIS," he said.
He added: "All countries of the world should take a courageous stand on the issue of their nationals," noting that "there are many nationalities in the camp." finished 29/h
