Today, Wednesday, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed the need to develop a roadmap for clear solutions that preserve the interests of the country and citizens, while stressing that the continuation of the status quo is unacceptable.
The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement, "The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, a group of heads and representatives of Iraqi unions and federations, where they discussed the developments in the country."
The President of the Republic stressed "the need to rely on dialogue and convergence for a quick solution to the existing political crisis," stressing the need to "focus the dialogue on the priority of securing citizens' rights in a free and dignified life, moving towards political reform and protecting civil peace, and setting a clear roadmap and solutions that protect the supreme national interest." It reassures citizens and meets their needs.”
He added that "the continuation of the status quo is unacceptable, and failures must be overcome and the popular will and democracy respected," noting that "respecting the will of the Iraqis is the basis for getting out of the crisis and overcoming the political blockage."
He stressed "the importance of the role of trade unions, federations, and social and civil activities in this aspect, especially in the current crisis," pointing to "the importance of securing citizens' rights, the country's security and stability, and moving on a peaceful and calm path to overcome existing challenges."
Dr. Barham Salih listened with interest to the interventions and representatives of unions and federations on the political situation in the country and ways to get out of the current crisis in a way that enhances national unity, achieves reform, protects the interests of citizens and overcomes existing problems and gaps.
