Asiacell lost 24.8 billion dinars of its market value, after it was accused of paying bribes worth $100 million to renew its license with the Iraqi government.
Asiacell shares fell today, to 7.3 dinars, down more than 1.08% from tomorrow's session.
In response to the accusations, the head of Asiacell, Farouk Mustafa, said, "A person impersonated the former Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanmi, and the subject of his contact with me was that hundreds of injured and disabled people in the October Uprising were waiting for treatment and care, and that the ministry lacked the possibility to cover the necessary expenses, due to the delay." Approval of the annual budget, and that the Prime Minister wishes "Ali" - as he deluded me - to provide an amount, even as a loan, to be repaid at the launch of the budget.
