    Shafaq News/ Iraqi Airways announced, on Tuesday, its agreement with the American company General Electric to maintain the engines of the national carrier's aircraft.



    And she said in a statement, received by Shafaq News Agency, according to the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, to go to the global parent companies and sober in contracts. To discuss with General Electric Aerospace about ways of joint cooperation to maintain the engines of the national carrier's aircraft.
    And the statement quoted the general manager of the airline company, that the company's management is serious in its steps to return the parked aircraft to service again, stressing that the results of the meeting produced important results, including the development of an integrated plan for the maintenance of all engines and in a record time.
    He added, it was also agreed with (GE) on all the technical matters required to carry out maintenance work, as well as financial matters, methods of making payments and reducing prices, provided that this does not affect the quality of work.
    On the fourth of this month, the Baghdad International Airport administration reported that an accident occurred when one of the planes took off from the runway of Baghdad Airport, when one of the tires exploded, causing the plane to stop at the end of the runway, which forced the planes coming to the airport for the purpose of landing to wait in the air.
