Shafaq News/ On Monday, the Iraqi Parliament was informed by the High Electoral Commission of the alternative candidate for the dismissed MP, Laith Al-Dulaimi.
The Commission told, according to a document obtained by Shafaq News Agency, the office of the Speaker of Parliament, that "the replacement of the dismissed MP, Laith al-Dulaimi, is the candidate of the National Masses Party, Ahmed al-Mashhadani."

Yesterday, Sunday, a document signed by the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, showed a decision to terminate the membership of Representative Laith al-Dulaimi, "based on his resignation."
Representative Laith Al-Dulaimi announced his rejection of the decision to exclude him from the Iraqi Council of Representatives, which was taken by Council Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi, describing the decision as "illegal and arbitrary," while calling for deterring and confronting the "dictatorship."
Representative Laith al-Dulaimi was a member of the "Progressive" party led by al-Halbousi, and was nominated within the ranks of the party for the regions north of Baghdad in the last parliamentary elections that took place in October 2021.
However, on April 22, 2022, al-Halbousi decided to dismiss al-Dulaimi from his party, Taqaddam, because of what he stated was his "non-compliance with the contexts and directives of the leadership of the Taqaddam Party and his violation of the rules governing the internal system."
Last June, MP Laith al-Dulaimi became a member of the Iraqi Parliament for the Sovereignty Alliance led by Khamis al-Khanjar.
