The Kurdistan Region Presidency welcomes the recent visit of the US government delegation, headed by the US President's Envoy for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, Mr. Brett McGurk, accompanied by the US Presidency's Envoy for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security, Mr. Amos Hochstein.[/size]
[size=45]We affirm our commitment and support for the strong and fruitful bilateral relations between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and the United States government on the basis of the Strategic Framework Agreement.[/size]
[size=45]While the Kurdistan Region is facing mysterious circumstances and a set of challenges, today we are in need of unity and solidarity between all parties that together hold the reins of the future of this region, especially the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.[/size]
[size=45]We call on all political forces to put aside their differences, and to solve their problems openly, through dialogue and understanding. What unites us is much greater than what divides us. In order for us to re-establish stability and unity, and to be able to protect and promote the interests of the citizens of the Kurdistan Region, we must all take our steps responsibly.[/size]
[size=45]At the same time, we welcome the continued progress in resolving the differences between the Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government. Despite the difficulties, we are optimistic that we will be able, with the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, and his government cabinet, and within the framework of the Iraqi constitution, to solve the outstanding problems.[/size]
