Parliamentary Finance calls for expediting the sending of the budget law

Yesterday, Monday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee called on the government to expedite sending the general federal budget law for the year 2023 after forming the government and electing the heads of parliamentary committees.
And the first deputy chairman of the committee, Ahmed Mazhar Al-Jubouri, said in a statement: “After more than four months have passed since the formation of the government, we ask it to expedite and work seriously to send the budget law for the year 2023 within a short period so that the Finance Committee can legislate it in the House of Representatives, especially since the time is within the committee.” The Council is short before discussing the draft law," expressing his hope that "the time will not be longer at the expense of the poor and the Iraqi people, since the country is in dire need of legislation."
Al-Jubouri pointed out that "the law touches on the poor classes, segments of retirees, contracts and daily wages, and it is expected that the budget will be sent so that the Finance Committee can discuss it and submit it to the House of Representatives for a vote on it."
He added, "The budget has been in the government's drawers for a long time," stressing the need to "commit to its legal and constitutional responsibility."
