    Today, Monday, the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, assured a delegation of members of the European Parliament that the many challenges require joint action, especially in the field of combating terrorism.


    A statement from Rashid Ward's office told Alsumaria News that the latter "received, at the Baghdad Palace, a delegation of members of the European Parliament, which included Sarah Skettidal, Dominique Ruiz Devisa, and Marco Campo Minosi, as they reviewed the existing relations between Iraq and the European Union, and emphasized the need to strengthen these relations." Relations, and strengthening cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the European Union.






    The President pointed out, "The importance of the delegation conveying the true picture of Iraq to the international community, and the state of security and stability that Iraqi cities live in, noting that the Iraqi government has developed a governmental program that meets the aspirations of the Iraqis, as it is hoped that the implementation of service, urban and investment projects will begin once the budget is approved."

    He added, "Iraq's relations with neighboring countries are good and there is an exchange of visits, as it is an active member of the League of Arab States, as it seeks through its pivotal role to consolidate security and stability, pointing to the many challenges that require joint action, especially in the areas of combating terrorism, economic cooperation, investment and work on Facing the repercussions of climate change, especially water scarcity, desertification and drought.

    For their part, the members of the delegation affirmed "the support of the European Parliament to consolidate the security and stability of Iraq and the well-being of its citizens, and the aspiration to enhance the horizons of cooperation and joint coordination in a way that develops joint relations, noting that their current visit to Iraq is exceptional and carries with it the desire to consolidate cooperation and joint coordination in various fields."

    The delegation praised "the positive developments witnessed by cities in the areas of security, stability and services provided to citizens, stressing Iraq's pivotal role in the region and the need to participate in the New York Water Conference."
