    On Friday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziyad Ali Fadel, directed the completion of the rehabilitation works of networks and lines before the first of May in preparation for the peak summer loads, while stressing the lack of complacency in legal procedures against programming manipulators.
    "The Minister of Electricity continues his field tours to all governorates of Iraq, and he makes periodic visits to all the ministry's formations and sectors, to follow up on the implementation of the next summer plan," ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Abadi told the official news agency.
    He added, "The Minister of Electricity has instructed all transmission and distribution formations to complete the work of rehabilitating networks, lines, and transformer and secondary stations, addressing bottlenecks, completing the work of creating feeders, and replacing transformers with larger capacities to suit the required load, within a maximum period of the first of next May, provided that the evaluation criterion is Network readiness for peak summer loads.
    And he continued, "The minister granted great powers to general managers and branches to overcome bureaucracy by working and proceeding with the completion of urgent projects as quick solutions to keep up with demand, and he stressed the fairness of distribution and the lack of complacency in legal deterrent measures against programming manipulators, and the necessity of providing governing materials to maintain the network."
