On Sunday, the Ministry of Electricity announced the details of its immediate and rapid plan for the summer, while confirming its endeavor to produce a constant rate of energy.
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Musa, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and its follow-up, "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the ministry has initiated early measures to initiate a quick and immediate action plan that requires preparations for the peak of summer loads."
He added, "The Minister of Electricity, Ali Fadel, and the agents are conducting intensive meetings and field visits to find out what the system needs in terms of conducting periodic maintenance of the production units at the stations, and addressing bottlenecks in transmission lines, in addition to establishing some transmission lines and converting some of them into double lines (double circuits). And other treatments related to the distribution sector, the development of many feeders, the installation of fixed and mobile stations, and the rehabilitation of distribution networks and feeder paths to achieve a stable production of energy.
Moussa pointed out that "announcing the readiness for the summer season will be early next May," adding that "the ministry's plan is proceeding in a systematic manner, especially after the government's care in the electricity sector."
He pointed out that "the ministry's quick and immediate plan to keep pace with the summer peak went well," expressing his hope that "the plan will be completed early next May, to achieve a constant rate of energy up to 24 megawatts."
