Thaer al-Jubouri, a member of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee, confirmed that Iraq will resort to the international community in the event of failure of negotiations with Turkey over Iraq's water share, pointing out that the country can no longer tolerate more stab wounds coming from neighboring countries.

Al-Jubouri told Al-Maalouma that "all disputes that arise, whether with Turkey or others, will pass through different stages, starting with dialogue and understandings in order to resolve disputed issues between Iraq and other countries."
He added, "Dialogues about water or borders and other issues begin at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then at the level of the state and the presidencies, and in the event that no solutions are reached with the other party, then Iraq will resort to the international community to obtain its rights and its share of water."
And he indicated that "Turkey took advantage of the deteriorating situation in Iraq in the past period in order to build dams and deprive it of its water share, but the situation is no longer the same as before, and Iraq today is not the same as before, especially since it can no longer bear many stab wounds coming from its neighborhood." ended 25 n
