The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, confirmed today, Sunday, that the problem is not limited to the issue of salaries and financial issues, but rather that the region's constitutional rights have been ignored and violated.

Barzani said, in a speech during the Kurdistan Conference, the cradle of peaceful coexistence: "It must be emphasized that adherence to the Iraqi constitution represents the only guarantee of stability and protection of the rights of all Iraqi components."

He added, "Kurdistan and all its components have suffered from numerous attempts to purify and exile, such as the Anfal campaigns, chemical attacks, the occupation of plowing and breeding, the burning of green and dry land, displacement and the abolition of national identity, so we demand compensation for all the injustice that befell us, in accordance with the constitution."

Barzani continued, "Our problem is not limited to the issue of salaries and financial issues. They have now ignored and violated most of our constitutional rights. One clear example of this is the constant threat to the Kurdish and Turkmen peasants in Kirkuk and its environs, where their agricultural lands are being seized. They want to tie all Our rights regarding the financial issue and salaries, and then exploiting this issue against us.”

The head of the Kurdistan government called on the Baghdad authorities to "respect the constitution and take lessons from history, as what we can achieve through peace and stability will not be achieved through war, injustice and imposing wills."

Barzani called on the citizens of Kurdistan and the political parties in the region to "not forget the struggles and sacrifices of our people, and not to abandon their supreme values under any pressure or for the sake of narrow factional interests, and to move forward in consolidating this culture and respecting the sacred values that distinguish us, for the sake of a prosperous homeland." And strong."
