Shafaq News / The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani announced today, Monday, that his government has accomplished many reforms in various fields and will continue to establish a solid economic infrastructure, and while he indicated that Erbil is "always" ready to solve problems with Baghdad according to the constitution, he confirmed that the region has provided what It has duties and calls for not violating its constitutional rights.
The Kurdistan Regional Government said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met today, Monday, with the directors of a large number of Kurdish media outlets," noting that "this meeting aims to present a frank discussion with the media, and through them. With the people of Kurdistan, with the aim of shedding light on and disclosing information, and clarifying the government’s position on many important issues.”
Barzani called on the media to "support the government and support it for the success of the reform process and the fight against corruption. He also stressed that the media is a sacred task and it must be performed responsibly."
Masrour Barzani reiterated, "The Kurdistan Regional Government supports freedom of media and expression and constructive criticism for reform, development and upgrading the situation in Kurdistan, and at the same time the media must defend national issues and the achievements that have been achieved as a result of the great sacrifices made by the people of Kurdistan," noting that "The ninth ministerial formation published as much information as possible, and provided the necessary clarifications to the Kurdistan Parliament and public opinion."
The head of the regional government explained, "We live in a region that suffers from many crises, and we have faced many crises in the past years, such as Corona and the health and financial crises, and despite that, the wheel of progress did not stop and we will continue to do so, as we have accomplished many reforms in various fields." He pointed out that "reform is a continuous process that takes a long time, especially since the reform aims to establish a solid economic infrastructure."
Barzani continued, "The government is for the entire Kurdistan Region, and it provides services to all the provinces, cities and regions of the Kurdistan Region without any discrimination."
Regarding the relationship with the federal government, the Prime Minister reiterated that "the Kurdistan Region is always ready to solve problems with Baghdad according to the constitution," and at the same time stressed that "the Kurdistan Region has performed its duties, and calls for not violating its constitutional rights."
According to the statement, "the Prime Minister responded to the attendees' questions and observations, and also presented a summary of the reforms implemented by the ninth cabinet in various fields."
