The Ministry of Health launched a major campaign to rehabilitate hospitals in Baghdad and the provinces, four of which will be launched in Baghdad this week, in addition to completing 16 others after allocating their allocations within the current year's budget, while efforts are continuing to complete 45 lagging hospitals.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi, told Al-Sabah: The ministry is proceeding with the implementation of the Prime Minister's directives regarding the government program represented in completing the plan to complete lagging hospitals and improve the services provided in all health fields.
He added that the ministry intends to start the rehabilitation and development of four hospitals in Baghdad during the current week, namely Yarmouk, Karama, martyr Al -Sadr and Fatima Al -Zahraa, along the lines of Al -Kadhimiya and Al -Kindi Hospitals, as well as starting to rehabilitate and develop 10 old hospitals that have been created since the 1980s, one in each governorate, as financial allocations were monitored for them within the budget for the current year, including the hospitals of (Marubini) educational company And Muthanna, Dhi Qar, Maysan, Wasit and Anbar, as it will be initiated by its rehabilitation soon.
He pointed out that the construction project of 16 hospitals will be completed during the current year, after allocating the financial allocations for the project distributed among the districts in the governorates.
Al-Hasnawi pointed out that there are 45 hospitals that have been lagging behind for years, for many and many reasons, some of which are funded by the Ministry, and others through the provincial councils, especially the Baghdad and Basra governorate councils, and three private hospitals in the Ministry of Higher Education.
