Political money in Anbar:
In this regard, Baghdad Today spoke with political researcher Muhannad Al-Rawi, today, Monday (September 25, 2023), to determine the impact of the use of political money in Anbar Governorate on the election results.
Al-Rawi said, “The influential political parties in Anbar use political money in their early election campaigns, especially the ruling party in the province.”
He added, "The ruling party is harnessing the state's capabilities and human resources. It is installing electricity transformers and distributing food baskets allocated by the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, municipal resources, roads and bridges. This matter is clearly visible and the government must stop using its resources for electoral promotion in Anbar."

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani had previously warned of the goals of the “corrupt people” for the purpose of obtaining more votes in the upcoming elections, stressing that the corrupt are lurking to steal public money and must be confronted, as he pointed out that “there is a group of The corrupt are waiting to pounce on financial allocations, as they did with the state’s explosive budgets previously, and they are the ones who talk about chastity and fighting corruption, but they are corrupt.”

Electoral promotion
As for a member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Khafaji, he criticized some governors’ exploitation of appointment files, projects, and land distribution for electoral promotion and winning voters’ votes, while he called on the Prime Minister to oblige governorate administrations to stop some events and activities until further notice.
Exploiting state resources for propaganda
He said in a previous interview with “Baghdad Today” that “exploiting government positions in electoral propaganda is very likely at the present time, and that the Prime Minister’s office has directed all governorates not to exploit power, influence, and state resources in electoral propaganda.”
Al-Khafaji added, “We identified a number of files that some conservatives are exploiting for electoral promotion, and we sent an urgent letter to the Prime Minister, in which we asked for careful monitoring and directives to stop some events, activities, and issues that could be exploited electorally,” explaining that “among the files that began to be exploited in Electoral promotion is the file of government contract appointments included in the general budget, which some have begun to give as a gift and gift from him to the citizens.”
