    Economy News - Baghdad
The Governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, confirmed that the decision to oblige the owners of private generators to install meters is a deliberate and irreversible decision.
Al-Atta said that the governorate has procedures against owners of violating generators, and the fuel ration can be withheld from them or the generator can be removed.
He stated, "The price of the meter ranges between 10-12 thousand Iraqi dinars."
He continued, "Those who own private generators object to the decision to install meters constitute 10%."
He explained that “most of the private generators are included in the fuel quota.”
It is noteworthy that Baghdad Governorate decided to oblige generator owners to install a meter that shows the number of operating hours of their generator and the amount of energy supplied to citizens, as well as obligating them to collect financial dues from subscribers at the end of the month and not at the beginning, to ensure justice.
