The Ministry of Labor launched a social research campaign for orphans and homeless people in state shelters in the governorates, to include them in salaries and cash subsidies.
The head of the Ministry's Social Protection Authority, Ahmed Al-Musawi, explained to Al-Sabah that the procedures for including 2,000 orphans in Baghdad and the governorates with protection salaries have been completed, and the issuance of their smart cards has been completed in preparation for disbursing cash aid to them.
Al-Mousawi revealed the ministry’s plan to include more than 15,000 orphans with social benefits, pointing out that it had obtained approval from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to reconnect shelter homes with the Ministry of Labor, in order to enhance care and support for the groups benefiting from the aforementioned homes.
