    [size=45]Yesterday, Monday, the Ministry of Planning announced that the illiteracy rate throughout Iraq had decreased significantly compared to 2012, and while it explained the measures that contributed to this decline, it expected a further decline in the coming years.[/size]
    [size=45]Ministry spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a press statement, “Iraq has recorded a decline in illiteracy rates in recent years, as the illiteracy rate throughout Iraq currently stands at 12.3%, after it was about 20% in 2012.” He explained that “the illiteracy rate among women is twice as high as that of men, as the illiteracy rate among men is estimated at 14%, while among women it reaches 23%.” Regarding the measures that contributed to this decline, Al-Hindawi pointed out that “the measures of the Ministry of Education during recent years It contributed to the decline in illiteracy rates, as it opened adult education centers in various parts of the country, and it also worked to increase enrollment levels in primary school to 95%, and there are one and a quarter million entering primary school annually in recent years.”[/size]
