    Real estate prices in the Al-Zubair district, west of Basra, do not stabilize. They rise or fall, and the rise has sometimes doubled. Infrastructure projects that have been completed or are still being completed in most areas of the district have greatly increased the demand for homes, but this is not the only reason, according to real estate dealers. Because Al-Zubair’s proximity to most oil fields and industrial projects causes what the city’s people consider displacement, and the price per square meter in some areas of Al-Zubair has now reached the price of the center of Basra.

    With the completion of some infrastructure projects, there was a major reversal in prices due to people's desire to buy homes with the availability of services.
    Other reasons relate to the fact that Al-Zubair is an attractive area for labor, and there is an exodus to Al-Zubair district to obtain job opportunities in oil projects and other projects.
    The price per square meter in the Teachers’ neighborhood reached two million dinars, and the price of a house (300 square meters) in the North district reached 600 million dinars and more. In the Arab district, the price per meter was 400 thousand dinars and now it has risen to 600 thousand dinars. Al-Zubair real estate has become more expensive than Some areas of central Basra.
