    Shafaq News/ The (electronic payment project for students) was launched today, Thursday, at Al-Aqeedah High School for Girls in the capital, Baghdad, under the supervision of the government electronic communication team, and in cooperation with the Central Bank of Iraq and the Ministry of Education.
    The head of the team, Ammar Moneim, confirmed in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that the project comes within the priorities of the government program and an important step towards digital transformation, electronic payment, and gradually getting rid of paper-based cash dealing.
    He pointed out that the project will include students in all schools, universities and institutes in the future, and will be implemented by several companies specialized in electronic payment approved by the Central Bank of Iraq, stressing that the project
    It will expand to include the private sector and all groups and segments of society
    While an official source told Shafaq News Agency that the intention to issue the electronic card is to circulate it to universities, institutes, colleges and schools in a step towards electronic transformation and transition.
    He added that there is also a project for taxi owners to issue electronic payment cards, and the transaction and collection will be done electronically, indicating that there is another government trend towards restaurant owners and obliging them to deal with electronic payment.
