Al-Baldawi told Al-Maalouma, “There are two options, not a third, to determine a candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives: either the Sunni component agrees on the candidates, or amends the bylaws and opens the door for nominations.”
Al-Baldawi suggested that “the period of choosing the alternative will be prolonged due to differences within the Sunni community,” stressing, “The coordination framework worked during the last period to bring viewpoints closer between the Sunni component and held more than one session, but unfortunately the component did not agree on a specific candidate.” End 25 hours
