Member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Jassim Al-Khafaji, said, “One of the confirmed observations of the government is that it has not sent the budget schedules yet, which means that we do not know any time limits for reviewing, discussing, approving, and returning it to the government and the Ministry of Finance again in preparation for disbursing it to the formations of spending units, which means delay in All the joints of this process.”

He pointed out that "if the budget is sent this week, Parliament will extend its term or agree with the government, and conversely, Parliament will not extend its legislative term," indicating that "the current budget is tripartite, and the justification for its legislation was not to delay or exceed the timings."

For his part, Member of Parliament Yasser Al-Husseini said, “There is no need to extend the legislative term, unless the budget law arrives, and we support the extension in the event of an emergency.”

Al-Husseini explained that “Parliament needs to complete its working hours to study the proposed laws, in addition to the need for more working hours for the purpose of finalizing and resolving the files,” according to the government newspaper Al-Sabah.
