Member of the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, Ali Al-Mashkoor, revealed today, Saturday, that large quantities of oil are being smuggled through the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Mashkoor told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The issue of oil smuggling is not a new one," indicating that "the parliamentary oil and gas committee formed sub-committees regarding the oil smuggling file and we have reached results in this regard."
He added that "his committee prepared a detailed report on oil smuggling and sent a copy of it to the Council of Ministers, the Presidency of the House of Representatives and the security oversight agencies in order to limit oil smuggling."
He pointed out that "the largest quantities of oil are smuggled through the Kurdistan Region."
He pointed out that "oil smuggling harmed Iraqi national interests and the national economy." End /25H
