Today, Saturday (April 20, 2024), Minister of Health Saleh Al-Hasnawi called on investors to enter the pharmaceutical industry field during the opening of the Al-Rawan factory for the production of medical syringes, which he confirmed will produce 80 million medical syringes annually.
The official news agency quoted Al-Hasnawi during his inauguration of the factory, followed by “Baghdad Today,” saying, “In implementation of the government program of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, regarding the localization of the pharmaceutical industry, and in cooperation with the private sector, the Al-Rawan factory was opened to produce medical syringes, in cooperation between the Department of Popular Clinics.” In the Ministry and Awtar Iraq Company.
Al-Hasnawi added, “The factory produces medical syringes with capacities (3, 5, 10, 20, 50) CC,” noting that “annual production includes 80 million medical syringes, and is expandable within a short period, and production may reach 160 million medical syringes.” .
Al-Hasnawi explained: “We have three factories in Iraq that produce medical syringes, and they cover the government sector and part of the private sector,” adding, “The government is going to strengthen the pharmaceutical industry in cooperation with the private sector, and provide all facilities.”
The Minister called on investors to enter the field of the pharmaceutical industry, and the manufacture of medical supplies and medical devices, because of the stability of pharmaceutical security achieved by the field, and the continuity of the availability of medicines, supplies, and medicines in Iraq.
