Abdulkadir Oraloglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure in Turkey, said that the “development road” will pave the way for continuous transport of goods to all European countries, using a path that combines land and railways, starting from the Iraqi port of Al-Faw all the way to London. .
Oglu explained in a statement followed by Mawazine News, “The quadripartite agreement signed by Turkey with Iraq, Qatar and the UAE in Baghdad, which enjoys the support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, is an important step in developing the project.”
He pointed out The Minister stressed “the importance of Al-Faw Port as a major transit point within the project, stressing that the project will contribute to significantly reducing travel times between Asia and Europe via Turkey.”
He added: “Thanks to the Development Road Project, which comes in response to the rapid growth in the volume of global trade and Turkey’s strategic location.” We will provide continuous transportation of goods to all European countries.”
Davutoglu also pointed out that “the project will reduce the time required for sea shipping from Al-Faw port to Europe by up to 15 days compared to the route through the Suez Canal,” stressing that “this will open new horizons for regional trade.”
