[rtl]Basra / NINA / The Director General of the General Company for Ports of Iraq, Engineer Farhan Al-Fartusi, announced today, Tuesday, the completion of casting work on the five berths within the Al-Faw Grand Port project.
He said in a press conference, “The company executing the Grand Faw Port project completed the casting process for the five berths within the project to establish the container terminal for the Grand Faw Port.”
He added, "The casting process for the last berth (Pier No. 5) has been completed."
He explained, "The remaining works on the five berths are complementary operations, followed by the process of connecting them with the container yard. They will continue until next October, after which a final announcement will be made regarding the completion of the work on the project to establish the container terminal for the Grand Faw Port."
It is noteworthy that the project to establish the container terminal for the Grand Al-Faw Port, which is one of the five projects of the project, includes the construction of five giant berths for unloading ships with a length of (1,750) meters, and the establishment of a container yard with a length of (2,000) metres./End
