Transportation: Development Road trains will reach Europe in one day

The Ministry of Transport reported that the trains that will be approved within the Development Road Project will operate according to a suitable European system at high speeds that may reach 300 km/h for transporting passengers and 140-160 km/h for delivering goods and may be able to reach Europe within one day.
Director of the Ministry's Media Office, Maitham Al-Safi, told Al-Sabah: The Development Road Project will include 15 dual stations for passengers and goods and will provide job opportunities for about 100,000 local workers, and will be a catalyst for the employment of 6 million citizens. He added that trains with international origins will be adopted to transport passengers and goods, as the speed of passenger trains will reach about 300 km/hour, while the speed of goods trains will be 140-160 km/hour, pointing out that these trains will operate according to a precise European system commensurate with the nature of the project. He indicated that the initial design phase of the project achieved high completion rates in soil investigation operations, as the completion rates reached 90 percent, the design process for the railway line reached 75 percent, while the topographic survey rates reached 1,200 km.
