    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani opened three bridges in Baghdad as part of the first package to relieve traffic congestion. While he stressed that the government is moving forward to fulfill its promises to implement service projects in Baghdad and the governorates, he directed to expedite the completion of registering the data of Kurdistan Region employees.
    The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani opened the Al-Rustamiya, Al-Muhandiseen, and Al-Shalijiya bridges, as part of the first package projects to relieve traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad.
    The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts made by the technical cadres in the Ministry of Construction and Housing, the Baghdad Municipality, and all the supporting parties in the implementation of these vital projects, indicating that by opening these projects, we will have completed five projects out of 16 in the first package, directing his thanks to the citizens for bearing the suffering of crowding and diversion. Roads, and their patience has resulted in the opening of these projects today.
    The Prime Minister confirmed that the government is on the path to fulfilling its promises to the people, and implementing service projects in Baghdad and the governorates, noting that there are 4 projects at the level of bridges and viaducts in Anbar, Diwaniyah, Dhi Qar and Maysan, which will be opened during the next three months, stressing that Continuing infrastructure projects in all governorates within the government’s vision, and preparing cities and governorates for an economic and development renaissance to build our new Iraq.
    The bridge linking Muhammad al-Qasim Road to the Army Canal Road from the Rustamiya side is one of the important projects to remove a number of suffocating traffic knots within the canal road route and the intersection areas with Muhammad al-Qasim Road. It includes expanding the roads adjacent to both sides of the canal on both sides of the New Baghdad and al-Amin areas, and constructing four bridged roundabouts. Ground to secure the movement of traffic on both sides of the canal, as well as the construction of a 360-meter-long tunnel parallel to the current tunnel, with the construction of a 470-meter-long bridge with approaches, linking Muhammad Al-Qasim Road to the Army Canal Road in one direction, and the rehabilitation and development of the front span.

    As for Al-Shaljiya Bridge, it is part of the Al-Tobji and Al-Shaljiya intersection development project. It includes the construction of a bridge with a total length of 450 metres, and is located along July 14 Street, with two separate lanes (for one way and the other way), with the expansion and development of the bridge’s side roads. It will carry straight traffic in both directions. Passing over the intersection, and in all directions (Aden Square, Damascus Intersection, Buratha Intersection).
    While the project to link Al-Dakhil Street towards Palestine Street / Al-Mohandiseen District includes two overhead bridges along the Army Canal with a length of 700 metres, and an underpass bridge crossing the Canal River with a length of 230 metres, to connect the land road connecting the two areas east of the canal (Al-Amana District) to its west at (Al-Mohandiseen District), and the project will contribute To facilitate the movement of vehicles and citizens from Al-Dakhel Street to Palestine Street to the Karkh side and vice versa; To relieve traffic congestion at nearby intersections.
    Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed to expedite the completion of the registration of Kurdistan Region employee data.
    The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement received by Al-Zawraa: “Al-Sudani chaired a meeting devoted to following up on the measures taken to localize the salaries of employees of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.”
    The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, “to proceed with the implementation of the Federal Court’s decision issued on February 21, 2024, which stipulated obligating the federal government and the regional government to localize the salaries of public sector employees working within the Kurdistan region. His Excellency also followed up on the implementation of procedures with the Central Bank of Iraq and government banks in this regard.” “.
    He stressed, “the necessity of expediting the completion of the registration of employees’ data in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and avoiding delaying their salaries,” indicating that “the federal government is concerned with caring for employees of the Iraqi people wherever they are, and ensuring their rights, in accordance with what is approved by the law and the constitution.”[/size]
