Independent MP Mohamed Anouz revealed today, Tuesday, an agreement by most independent representatives regarding granting their votes to elect the Speaker of Parliament in any future election session.

Anouz said in an interview with “Al-Ma’louma” that “the independent representatives agreed that their votes in the next session to elect the Speaker of Parliament will be for the person who is most committed to the constitution and the law and not to be subject to deals or agreements from any party.”
He added, "The call to hold a new session to elect the Speaker of Parliament is still bound by political consensus."
Anouz called on the political forces to "leave the freedom of choice to their representatives for who is best suited for the political process or for a single bloc to agree on a specific personality until the crisis in choosing the Speaker of Parliament is over and the file is closed."
A member of the State of Law coalition, Saad Al-Muttalabi, confirmed in a statement to “Al-Ma’louma” that all political forces within the coordination framework and others are still serious about pressuring the Sunni political forces to find a consensus solution to end the file of the Presidency of the House of Representatives.
