Member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Sajjad Salem, stressed, on Monday, the necessity of legislating the law for the recovery of proceeds of corruption, while confirming the existence of important laws within the committee awaiting legislation.
Salem told Al-Maalouma, “The law to recover proceeds of corruption is one of the important laws that falls within the category of completing the work of the Integrity Commission, revealing financial liabilities, and recovering looted funds abroad and at home.”
He added, "There are other important laws that are being discussed and matured within the Legal Committee, including the proposed law on the legal profession, as well as the proposed law on replacing negative punishments with financial sums."
He explained that "the proposed replacement law was proposed from the previous parliamentary session and was reactivated and is currently present within the Legal Committee." He pointed out the importance of adopting relevant legislation to combat corruption.” Ended/25 h
