    After the commander of the Ansar al-Marja’iya Brigade, Hamid al-Yasiri, called for a demonstration “against local corruption” and demanded an end to the presence of the local government and the provincial council, independent MP Bassem Khashan responded and stressed that he would not stand in the face of those demonstrating against corruption, while expressing his willingness to provide support.
