The Cabinet approves the draft law to protect volunteer paramedics and rescuers

The Council of Ministers, in its regular session held yesterday, Tuesday, headed by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, approved the proposal (Law to Protect Volunteer Paramedics and Rescuers), provided that the proposal is sent to the State Council for proper review, and the comments of the Legal Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers are taken into account.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office stated that Al-Sudani indicated, at the beginning of the session, the need to intensify the service efforts provided by all service departments in direct contact with citizens, especially with the intensification of the summer season, and the need for the Ministry of Electricity to continue taking the necessary measures and procedures to ensure the distribution of electrical energy, and the rapid handling of problems and network outages, with efficiency and keenness to meet citizens' appeals. The Prime Minister touched upon the approaching tenth of Muharram, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib and his chosen companions (peace be upon them), and the launch of the rituals to commemorate this immortal occasion in the conscience of Iraqis and all Muslims, and what it necessitates in terms of security, governmental and service readiness from all service, health, municipal and sectoral institutions and formations, and the necessity of preparing and providing all organizational and material assistance, in order to reflect a bright image that carries the heritage and values of the family of the Prophet, and the meanings of the tolerant Muhammadan message. The Council of Ministers approved the recommendation submitted by the Committee for the Evaluation of Officials and Directors General, which was submitted by the Director of the Prime Minister's Office, and it recommended the dismissal and rotation of (7) Directors General in various ministries and formations.
The Council exempted national factories that have projects to transfer technology and knowledge within Iraq, in partnership with solid companies to manufacture important medicines such as cancer medicines, blood diseases medicines, immune medicines and hormones, from the provisions of Paragraph (1) of Cabinet Resolution (23151 of 2023) related to the classification of pharmaceutical factories and the controls for referring Ministry of Health contracts to them, provided that the Ministry of Health prepares a list of the medicines included.
