    Economy News - Follow-up
[rtl]Although it is only outperformed by the Syrian and Afghan passports in the latest 2024 ranking, the Iraqi passport appears to be in its best condition in at least 9 years.[/rtl]
[rtl]The Iraqi passport's ranking rose in the current year 2024 to be ranked 101st globally, for the first time since 2015 until now, as during this period the best ranking it reached was 102nd globally  in 2016.[/rtl]
[rtl]Apart from this ranking, which may not reflect a clear picture of the passport’s performance because the rank changes according to the ranking of other countries and their progress and decline and their number, which may increase and decrease within the same classification annually, the best criterion is the number of countries that the passport allows entry to without a visa.[/rtl]
[rtl]To find out the number of countries that an Iraqi passport holder can enter without a visa in 2024, it turned out that there are 31 countries, which is the highest number of countries recorded since 2016 until now.[/rtl]
[rtl]The highest number of countries the Iraqi passport reached over the past eight years was 30 countries in 2016 and 2018.[/rtl]
[rtl]It is noteworthy that the Singaporean passport tops the list of the most powerful passports in the world, according to the Henley Passport Index, which was recently published. The index, issued by the London-based citizenship and residence company Henley & Partners, ranks passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a visa.[/rtl]
[rtl]According to the index, Singaporean passport holders can travel to 195 destinations without a prior visa, while Japan, Germany, France, Italy and Spain come in second place on the list of the most powerful passports, with visa-free travel to 192 destinations.[/rtl]
[rtl]At the level of the rest of the Arab countries, the Qatari passport ranked 46th globally, as it allows its holders to travel without a visa to 107 destinations, while the Kuwaiti passport came in 49th globally, followed by the Saudi passport, the Sultanate of Oman, the Moroccan passport, the Tunisian passport, then the Algerian and Egyptian passports, which means that the Iraqi passport is in the penultimate position globally and in the Arab world, as it is only superior to the Syrian passport.[/rtl]
[rtl]As for the weakest passport, the index ranked Afghanistan as having the weakest passport in the world, as it allows its citizens to travel to only 26 countries without the need for a visa.[/rtl]
