    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Member of the Parliamentary Water Committee, Rafiq Al-Salihi, said that the drought crisis has not been resolved, the government has not provided solutions, and every time it repeats the same scenarios and past statements.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Salihi said, "On the contrary, the drought crisis is continuing, desertification is expanding, and the environmental disasters that recently struck Maysan are due to drought."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The water storage is still low. The UN reports were very clear, indicating that Iraq has crossed the red lines of water stress."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "the Ministry of Water Resources has accepted the cultivation of the barley crop in the middle Euphrates regions and some southern regions, but the price will be very expensive, especially if the coming year is a drought year, as it will also affect the winter crop, in addition to the high level of pollutants."[/rtl]
