Adnan Al-Sarraj, the Prime Minister's Advisor for Education Affairs, called on Thursday not to buy school books from the markets, stressing that they will be distributed for free at the beginning of the new school year. Al-Sarraj said that "the new school year is being followed up by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and his office for education affairs, and the Ministry of Education is interested in making important changes to the reality of education in the country." He continued, "The most important main problems facing education are the distribution of school books." The Prime Minister's Advisor explained that "there are decisions taken by the Council of Ministers to organize the process of printing books, and the process has been completely successful, as the last book will be delivered from private and public printing presses on September 7." Al-Sarraj noted that "education directorates have started receiving books from now," continuing by saying: "I believe that the first days of the school year will witness the distribution of books to students, unlike previous years." He added that "the Ministry of Education called on parents not to buy books from the markets because they will be distributed for free." Al-Sudani's Advisor concluded: "4,000 schools have been rehabilitated and more than 40 others have been built," noting that "next year will witness development and the beginning of an important stage in building Schools.
