    [size=45]Political researcher Salah Al-Kubaisi revealed details of the meeting of the Coordination Framework with the Sunni forces last night, while indicating that the date of the session to choose the Speaker of Parliament will be during the current week or the week after.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Kubaisi said that “he held a meeting yesterday for the political forces (Sunni and Shiite),” indicating that “the Progress Party demanded opening the door for nominations for the position of Parliament Speaker and amending Article 12, but the request was rejected by the Coordination Framework.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Kubaisi added, “A ministry was offered to MP Salem Al-Issawi (candidate for the position of Parliament Speaker), but he refused.”
    He pointed out that “there is a conviction among the political forces, especially the framework forces, about the necessity of holding a session to elect a Speaker of the House of Representatives,” expecting that “the session to elect the Speaker of the House will be during the current week or the following week.”[/size]
    [size=45]The Council of Representatives concluded, in its session held today, Saturday, August 31, 2024, the first reading of a number of draft laws.
    The Council completed the “Fifth Amendment to the Iraqi Cancer Council Law No. 63 of 1985.”[/size]
    [size=45]The House of Representatives also completed the first reading of the draft law on the Republic of Iraq’s accession to the Convention Amending the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material.[/size]
    [size=45]He also voted on the members of the Parliamentary Conduct Implementation Committee.
    Hamid Jassim Kassar took the constitutional oath during the session instead of the deceased MP Ghandi Muhammad Abdul Karim.
    The House of Representatives completed the report and discussion of the draft arbitration law.[/size]
