The Ministry of Interior revealed, today, Saturday, that the Iraqi security services continue to fight drug smugglers and dealers in Iraq and abroad.

The ministry's spokesman, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri al-Moussawi, told Al-Maalouma Agency, "Iraq is an international coordination center for combating drugs."
Adding that "Iraq has coordination with all geographically neighboring countries and regional countries, and there are activities regarding the exchange of information."
He explained that "there is coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as Syria, in addition to coordination with the Gulf countries," stressing that "Iraq was able to arrest the most dangerous drug dealer from Guinea who was at Basra Airport and is present in one of the neighboring countries."
He added, "There is a very great security and governmental interest in the drug control file." End / 25 H
