[size=45]The Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Interior revealed that the ministry has adopted two “strategies” regarding social media sites, stressing the need to combat “harmful” content and encourage “positive” content.[/size]
[size=45]Major General Khaled Al-Muhanna said, “After social media became a major influence on Iraqi society, the Ministry of Interior adopted two strategies, the first of which is to combat harmful content by taking legal action on the grounds that harmful content constitutes a violation of Iraqi law,” indicating that “the second strategy is to provide encouragement to owners of positive content.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "the Ministry of Interior is holding today the first-level conference for owners of positive content, which includes more than 250 publishers and content creators. This is only the beginning of supporting owners of positive content and sending a message that whoever represents Iraq today with all its weight, with all its civilizations, with all its history, its present and its future."[/size]
[size=45]He explained that "this conference is the beginning of the broad support provided by the Ministry of Interior to owners of positive content."[/size]
