Correcting the position of foreign workers in Najaf

Najaf Governorate has formed a joint committee to correct the status of illegal foreign workers.
The Director of the Federal Labor Department in Najaf, Qais Al-Shiblawi, told Al-Sabah: Those included are those who entered Iraq through official ports in a legal manner, except for the region, and do not include those who entered illegally.
He explained that the committee has so far received 150 applications through the Ur electronic portal, and granted the applicants a legal work permit for a period of one year, renewable.
Al-Shiblawi explained that the government has allowed owners of investment projects to bring in foreign workers and given them a month to correct their legal status, while regular projects are not entitled to bring in any worker until they complete the legal procedures.
