Member of the Political Bureau of the Progress Party, Mohammed Akram Al-Ghariri, revealed those included in the amendment to the General Amnesty Law, which the House of Representatives completed its second reading in today's session, Monday. Al-
Ghariri said: "
- The General Amnesty Law does not include those whose hands are stained with the blood of Iraqis who are involved in terrorist operations and criminal crimes.
- Every person who carried a weapon and financed terrorism is considered a criminal, and we demand that the penalties be tightened on terrorists.
- The general amnesty will include re-investigating and trying prisoners who were denounced by secret informants, and those from whom confessions were extracted by force and torture according to natural reports from the Ministry of Health.
- We have lists of names who were denounced and the random arrest campaign that took place previously included many innocent people.
- The number of prisoners actually sentenced is 67 thousand, including approximately 40 thousand terrorists.
The House of Representatives concluded in its session held today, Monday, discussing (the second reading) the proposal to amend the General Amnesty Law No. (27) of 2016.
