    Al-Zawraa/ Hussein Faleh:
The National Retirement Authority confirmed that the package of measures launched by the Prime Minister achieved a qualitative shift in our work, and while indicating that governance and the electronic system ended paperwork and bureaucracy in its work, it announced the creation of a special division for people with disabilities and the elderly to facilitate retirement transactions.
The Director of Media at the National Retirement Authority, Alaa Muhammad, said in an interview with “Al-Zawraa”: The first shift in the work of the National Retirement Authority is the package of measures launched by the Prime Minister in early February 2023, with the follow-up of the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the National Retirement Authority and with great efforts from the Prime Minister’s Office. Indicating that the campaign included simplifying procedures and introducing electronic work, reducing the time of the transaction and not procrastinating and occupying the retiree with many requests that can be shortened by electronic work that spares us from all the transfers.
He added: The Retirement Authority implemented all points of the package, starting with the transfer of work teams from the Authority to the ministries for the purpose of completing the retirees’ IDs, which only take two days to be issued to the employee referred to retirement. He stressed that one of the points of the package is for the department of the employee who will be referred to retirement to start the retirement division in the department to prepare the transaction and prepare it 6 months before his referral to retirement in order to complete his retirement transaction, and this directive was implemented by all ministries.
He pointed out that the retirement division in the departments and ministries has a close relationship with the National Retirement Authority. He added that regarding the issue of proving life, we have a new division in the Citizens Affairs Department, which is the division of people with disabilities, special needs and the elderly to facilitate the transactions of these groups.
He explained that governance and the electronic system have taken up space in the authority, and have ended paperwork and bureaucracy and removed a great burden on the retiree from going and repeated reviews. He stressed that the electronic system has ended the suffering of retirees abroad by proving life via a photo or video call with the authority and the central computer.
He explained that the retiree's information is sent through the department via the barcode system to the National Retirement Authority, and the authority works within the headquarters of ministries and government departments to complete retirement transactions. Calling on all ministries and departments to implement the latest reform package regarding completing transactions for retirees and forming teams at their headquarters.
He pointed out that: The end-of-service bonus is paid on a continuous and periodic basis after the retiree receives his first salary and is granted the bonus; because the door to disbursement is not the door to disbursement of salaries.
The National Retirement Authority had previously announced the launch of the (Retirement) application to provide services to the retirees segment.
The Authority stated in a statement that “in implementation of the package of organizing procedures to support the retirees segment launched by the Prime Minister and the Authority’s plan to simplify procedures and adopt electronic programs in providing its services to retirees and with the follow-up of the Chairman of the National Retirement Authority, the National Retirement Authority announced the launch of the (Retirement) application on mobile phones.” He indicated that “the application aims to provide services to the retirees segment inside and outside Iraq, as it allows the retiree to prove his life through the application without the need to visit the Authority or its branches in Baghdad and the governorates and bear the trouble and costs of travel.”
The statement added that “the application also allows inquiries about salary details and deductions and notifies them of changes in their retirement salaries, in addition to providing a service to employees continuing in service about the mechanism for calculating the retirement salary after retirement,” noting that “this step comes within the authority’s plans for digital transformation, simplifying procedures and converting all its services from paper to electronic work in line with the government program to use electronic governance in work in all institutions.”[/size]
