    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Security expert Ahmed Al-Tamimi revealed, today, Monday (November 11, 2024), the content of National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji’s visit to Tehran, while stressing that it is a message from Baghdad for a new roadmap in the region.
Al-Tamimi told Baghdad Today, "Baghdad is aware of the seriousness of the tensions in the Middle East and the possibility of an open conflict between Tehran and Tel Aviv, which will inevitably make Iraqi airspace a corridor for the flow of drones, missiles and aircraft activity, which puts it in a circle of danger, and the flames of war will not remain within a specific geographical area in light of the presence of multiple resistance wings and factions."
He added that "the visit of the Iraqi National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, carries in its general content, as we see it, a new road map led by Baghdad in order to clarify its position on several files, most notably its commitment to supporting the security of the capitals of neighboring countries, including Tehran, and rejecting the exploitation of its airspace and territory for any external aggression, but in return it rejects its airspace being a passage for any wars or conflicts."
He pointed out that "Al-Araji's visit comes as news spreads about an imminent Iranian response to Tel Aviv, which may have another reaction and thus may lead to breaking some red lines, referring to targeting oil or nuclear facilities. There, controlling the situation will be difficult, but rather we will witness a comprehensive war in which all cards will be used, and Iraq will be harmed in any case."
Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday evening, according to Iranian official media .
Earlier, Al-Araji arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-level security delegation, in the presence of the Kurdistan Region's Interior Minister, Rebar Ahmed .
Al-Araji arrived in Tehran under the direction of the Prime Minister and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani .
This visit comes within the framework of following up on the security agreement between Iraq and Iran and reviewing regional developments, according to Iranian media.
