The Government Communication Team announced today, Sunday, that Baghdad Airport customs increased by 400 percent after the implementation of automation, while indicating that the automation of the financial sectors achieved leaps in collecting amounts.
The team leader, Ammar Munim, said: “The automation systems work in all sectors, and there is a focus on the financial sectors, where we have achieved leaps in collecting amounts related to petroleum derivatives, and also regarding taxes and customs, whose revenues and trading volume for these amounts have increased after they were collected electronically.”
He added, "We have extensive plans in this field that will be implemented in the coming months," noting that "customs revenues have increased significantly after the implementation of automation, as they have achieved around 400 percent at Baghdad Airport and 200 percent in Basra," noting that "automation requires an environment, legislation, and technology that will be obtained successively."
