Basra: Congress does not recognize the boundary with Kuwait Convention and call for alternative

    Alsumaria news/Basrah
    Student
Parliament from Basra, Wednesday, in the province of the Iraqi
Government to conclude a new agreement with Kuwaiti counterpart to
demarcate the border between the two countries, as they condemned the
release of the Iraqi and Kuwaiti border forces fire on citizens affected
by boundary procedures during their protest yesterday in the Umm Qasr
    area.

According to a joint statement read out by the Prosecutor
within the State of law bloc Mansour al-Tamimi, and attended by the
Sumerian "news", "the Convention tent unfair will make the atmosphere of
Safwan murky between Iraqis and Kuwaitis for centuries, and we call
upon Iraqi and Kuwaiti Governments and the United Nations to reconsider
that agreement and shut down border procedures currently implemented,"

    adding
that "the said Convention concluded in abnormal conditions between
Saddam Hussein and the Government of Kuwait, under the auspices of the
United Nations, aimed at deterring and punishing the former Iraqi regime
On the background of the invasion of Kuwait ".

    Tamimi said that
"Conservative MPs condemned the attacks on citizens protesting the
demarcation in the Umm Qasr area, call the Department of Interior and
local government in Basra to investigate the shooting and found
    wanting".

Tamimi said that "local government in Basra to suspend
street banners which condemned the assault on Iraqi sovereignty, rather
than having to suspend thousands of signs."

    Attorney, said the
State of law Coalition block just the paucity of Maliki, "Kuwaiti force
also fired on Iraqi protesters, and this was a hostile military action
in accordance with international law, and must submit a memorandum
denouncing foreign to Kuwait, the Kuwaiti Government to open an
investigation and then apologize for Iraq."

    Al-Maliki said that
the Iraqi Government must convince Kuwait to reconsider the border
demarcation between the two countries, adding that "the Convention being
implemented resulted in lost vast tracts of Iraqi territory".

    According
to the Liberal bloc MP Hussein called the "limits of the Kuwait mutlaa,
then crept to Abdali, after 1991 has reached deep into Iraqi territory,
and this stretch is categorically rejected," adding that "the Iraqi
Foreign Ministry bore responsibility because of negotiated with Kuwaitis
    in dark rooms".

He demanded that "Kuwait during the Iraqi
invasion to crimes and violations of the atrocities, they got from Iraq
double compensation for its losses", adding that "Iraq is looking
forward to establish good bilateral relations with Kuwait and rooted,
the current border demarcation with many problems in the future."

    For
its part, called the State of law Coalition MP Jinan Abdul-Jabbar of
the Kuwaiti Government to show flexibility to ensure the resolution of
the crisis ", saying that" the Iraqi Government is supposed to feel a
declaration of non-recognition of the boundary Convention. "

    Meanwhile,
Basra Governorate Council Member said Kazem Hussein Al-mousawi during a
conference held in the Office of the Chamber of deputies that "the
local Government has not lived up to the level of crisis, the attitude
of the members of Parliament it is Musharraf, although he was late a
lot", stating that "the demarcation agreement must be abolished, and the
Government that the intense diplomatic effort to reach a new
    agreement."

The Iraqi border forces requested last week by some
citizens in the Umm Qasr area to evacuate their homes for the purpose of
demolition being located within a metal tube to the demarcation of the
border established by the Kuwaiti Government intends, and the residents
objected to the procedure, and demanded the Government not to alienate
more Iraqi territory, as demand by providing alternative accommodation
if you insist on evacuation and demolition of their homes, and when
began yesterday with the Kuwaiti Government contracting company with
pipeline between pillar no. 104 and 105 residents rose pillar And tried
to prevent them from working with the Iraqi border guard forces and
Kuwaiti border guards shoot density to disperse the protesters.

    The
UN Security Council issued resolution 833 in 1993 under which the
demarcation of the boundary between Kuwait and Iraq, and along some 216
km, application decision partially based on Convention decisions (Safwan
tent) in 1991 to carve out vast tracts of Iraqi territory and its
annexation to Kuwaiti territory, crept to the Kuwaiti border dozens of
homes and farms in the Safwan area, and the residential area was located
in the area of Umm Qasr has become since the mid-1990s is entirely
within the boundaries of the State of Kuwait, And that the Government
destroyed the region completely to allow for border troops to practice
their work unimpeded, demolitions of tens of houses, a primary school
and a mosque, a popular market.

    Many have challenged Iraqi
officials after the fall of the former regime in 2003 to complete the
demarcation of the land boundary between the two countries in accordance
with resolution 833, as that decision imposed on Iraq under
international pressure and in extraordinary circumstances. In 2005, the
Iraqi Government was keen to embarrass when dozens of people in Safwan
and Umm Qasr, a foreign company was the pipeline for demarcation of the
land boundary, the protests and the attendant night mortar shelling to
stop working on the project before completion, while the Kuwaiti
Government is to complete the project after receiving a green light from
    the Iraqi counterpart.

Well, I've been wrong before. Like last December, I just knew Iraq was going to be released from 7 and Talabani had a stroke. I must have had indigestion. ;)
