The Nikkei average fell more than one percent at the close on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday by the shares of exporting companies, which fell due to the yen's strength at a time when sentiment remained weak as a result of concern about the views of US President Donald Trump pro trade protectionism.
The benchmark Nikkei index of the shares of major Japanese companies 1.3 percent to 18,891.03 points.
Fell broader Topix index 1.2 percent to 1514.63 points, while the Jah.ba.oks Nikkei-400 index down 1.3 percent to 13567.32 points.
